CI Challenge #10
Quick note: If you have a chance, check out my own Friday Card Flick that I posted yesterday! Also check back here on Monday for some big news.
On to the card... I LOVE Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenges. This week the colors to use are Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, So Saffron & Bashful Blue. I love how crisp all of these colors look on white, so summery fresh!! I was really inspired by the pillows in this inspiration photo, so that is what I went with. This card is 4 1/4" squared and in the pattern of what I think looks like a piece of fabric for a pillow. The floral design and sentiment was made with SU rub-ons which could only be earned during Sell-A-Bration. I used one of the little frames and brads from SU Hodge Podge Hardware set. This was a fun card to make and you would think only took me a few minutes. I can't tell you how long I played with the stinkin' stripes so that I had a pattern that I liked.
Thanks Kristina for another great challenge!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!

FCF "Thank You Teacher"
Happy Friday Everyone!! I took on a challenge from Addicted to Stamps & Scraps in making this card. The challenge is to CASE someone, doesn't have to be absolutely the same, you can change it up a bit. So I cased a card that LeAnne from Wee Inklings made using vintage school paper. I thought the idea of using lined paper would be stinking cute for a thank you card for teachers. Check out both of those blogs to see what else they are doing.
I love Fridays, because it is time for another Friday Card Flick. I made a few of these cards for my kids teachers for their last day of school, which is today. Can't believe they are through another school year already! The music I chose for this flick is sung by a former teacher, (can you guess who that might be?) which I thought was fitting. A big thanks to all of you teachers out there. You are amazing people and do not get enough credit for all that you do! THANK YOU!!
A fun little game...can you count how many times I say "um" and "super cute" LOL! What can I say, I am not a professional by any means. Oh one more little thing, all I am going to say is bad hair day and spring allergies . Please be kind *grins*
Thanks for stopping by...see ya later tomorrow

Congrats Grad!
I know this isn't a traditional graduation card, but I made it for a really special girl. Carissa comes to a lot of my stamp camps and let me tell you, this girl has got some talent! Carissa made her own graduation announcements and instead of using the school's colors she used her own favorite colors. I love that, good for her! I so appreciate the fact that she is thinking of herself and what she likes best. So for Carissa's card I threw tradition out the door and mixed up the "Pick a Petal" and "Great Grads" sets by SU. I chose bright spring colors and voila...a non traditional springy congrats grad card. The scallop punch is just about perfect for that big "G", just have to be careful when lining it up not to cut into the words going around the edge.
Congrats Carissa and the class of 2008!! I know you have a bright future ahead of you!
Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for my FCF, this week I made a Teacher Thank You card. Also I have some BIG news coming next week...eeek!
See ya later!

A Summer Tag/Card
Well it looks like a tag, but it could be a card. I haven't decided yet if I should take off the extra layer to make this just a tag, probably makes sense...I guess. What do you think?Guess it is kinda hard to tell in the picture. Either way I think it will work for both Caardvarks "Tag Challenge" and CPS challenge #66. Woo Hoo two challenges in one. Guess I should have saved this for tomorrow when I normally do a Wednesday Challenge Combo. I guess this will be an off week...sorry. I promise to have my Friday Card Flick on Friday though *smiles*.
Gotta run, lots of errands to do while the kids are still in school.
Have a great day!!
UPDATE: The tree and sunshine paper is by Chatterbox and the little chipboard house is by Maya Road. Thanks for all the sweet comments, I love them!!

A little early for Monday
Well I just remembered I needed to post my card for Taylored Expressions "Friday Cupcake Challenge". I love cupcakes and I have been meaning to play along each week, but some how the weekends just fly by.
I used my Cricut with the Doodle Charms cartridge for the large cupcake. The small cupcakes are from "ABC Images" SU stamp set using chocolate chip classic ink. I paper pieced the frosting to match the large cupcake. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the white back grounds with the "happy birthday" images. I apologize, I am not sure who the DP is made by. Aly got a hold of this piece and the bottom half was missing with the name of the manufacturer on it....sorry! The embellishments are all from Memory Makers. I tend to luck out and find them on clearance at Target every now and then. I love Target!!
Well that is it for Today. For those of you who missed my Friday Card Flick please check it out here. Have a great day off!
Scrappin' Sunday
This is a layout that I made for the Pub Calls NSD sketch challenge. I used some old pictures of Ty from 1997, geesh over ten years ago. My poor boys always had bandaids on their knees from the time they were a year old until maybe 4 years old. I dont' know if it is a boy thing that they were always tripping and skinning up their knees or what. Aly is so graceful and seriously has the best balance I have ever seen. She has maybe skinned up her knee once in her life. I was assuming it is because she is a girl. Maybe, its just Aly who knows! OK sorry went off track there a little, so the paper is MME, the Magnolia stack. The swirls at the top of the page and bottom are the flourish stamp from the Fancy Pants "Chic Alpha" set. The little sign post and word "Smile" were cut out with my Cricut. The sun & grass patch I just cut out free hand. Pretty simple page to put together.
I really should be cleaning up my studio today, it is such a disaster area. Aly has her own little table and supplies in there with me, so her side of the room has to be swept up at least every other day. She LOVES to cut up scraps of paper into tiny little pieces of confetti. The joy, let me tell you! Maybe I will go in there and clean up and then maybe I won't. I am really tired today and don't feel like doing much. Guess we will see what the day brings.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a great Memorial Day weekend! Take care!

Feeling Crabby?
No Color Inspiration challenge to work on today, Kristina is in NY I believe, so I thought I would just play. Allison over at Stampin' When I Can posted a link to a bunch of cute little boy and girl clip art figures. Yeah, my most favorite thing to do color! This is one of the "Everyday Boys", I think they are so cute! I printed him out on matte finish photo paper and colored him with my Tombo markers. The eyelets are by Eye-Lets-Etc, the light blue paper is by MME, which was dry embossed with my Cuttle Bug and I believe everything else (besides the image) is from Stampin' UP! I can't wait to color some more of these cute little guys and gals, I just love their round little faces.
Thanks for stopping by!

CPS Sketch #65
I put this together last night using CPS' sketch #65. I love at the end of the week you can easily go back through and check out everyones take on the sketch. Everyone does such a great job and they are all so inspiring!
For this card I used some of my new Paper Trunk paper that I won from the NSD challenge. Their paper is gorgeous and has a nice orange peel texture. LOVE IT! The chipboard piece is from Stampin' UP! as well as the hodge podge pieces, Cranberry Crisp card stock, twill tape and rub on sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!!

Happy Scrappin' Sunday
It is a beautiful morning in the neighborhood! Aly and I have been sitting here in the living room watching card making videos on You Tube, Aly really likes Kristina's videos and of course her Mommy's Friday Card Flicks..ha ha. Anyway, so we are sitting here and hear this big "Whooosh". I knew immediately what is was so I grabbed my camera and ran out the back door. YUP it was a hot air balloon. We live in a hot air balloon flight path and not until today did I realize how close we were. We live about 2 miles directly south of were I grew up and as a kid I remember waking up to the noise of hot air balloons on Sunday mornings. By the time they were at our house they were pretty high up in the air. This one was close, no wonder why he kept "whooshing", he was trying to get up higher. This first picture is kinda funky, of course the sun was right smack dab in front of me so I pointed the camera, closed my eyes and shot. I didn't realize how fast those stinkin' balloons move, so as soon as I took the first picture I ran out front and got this one. I of course didn't have the settings correct on my camera so they are a little dark, but hey it was exciting! Funny how I get the same rush of excitement when I hear that noise. I felt like a little kid again..yippee!
Now on to my Scrappin' Sunday page. I used the sketch from Sketch This, it is number 50 and there is a prize involved. Go check it out and get scrapping! I have had the little snail eyelets from Eye-Lets-Etc forever. I am so happy that I finally have a page to put them on. My sweet little Corbin, wow he has grown up so fast! These pictures were taken in 2001, wow 7 years ago how time flies.
Well I hope you have a great rest of your weekend! Mine has been extended... I am a SAHM again, for a little while anyway *HUGE GRINS*. Al is so supportive and my kids are happy to know that I will be around in the morning to take them to school. Plus I will get to enjoy field day with my kids this week. I am so excited!!
See ya tomorrow!

Color Inspiration #3 & some sketch challenges
Sorry so late today... both of these cards were made using the Inspiration Challenge photo that I posted a couple of days ago. This first one I used CPS sketch #64, some MME paper, SU stickers and rhinestone brads.
The second card here is a sketch from Kazan using all Stampin' UP! products and button brads from Making Memories. I am not sure what happened with this second photo, my flash just stopped working so it looks more green then the first. They are Tempting Turquoise believe it or not. Don't forget to go over to the Artistic Avenger to see what Carrie has created for this challenge. I am heading over there now and then I need to finish editing my Friday Card Flick!! See ya tomorrow.
KW Color Challenge
Hello!
Today I visited Kristina's blog for her color challenge and immediately I had this card layout in my head. Chloe did a very similar layout this week and I just loved it!! So, for Kristina's Color Challenge #9 we were to use the following colors: Real Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise & So Saffron. I used a Stampin' UP! rub on for the sentiment. The color squares are stamped with an image from Baroque Motifs using Versa Mark ink, rounded the opposite corners and thats it easy peasy!!
Tomorrow I will actually have two cards to post using just my Inspiration Challenge. Don't forget to link your creations here, so that I can post all of them together on Saturday for you to see.
OH just one more thing! Go check out the deets at Scrapbook Destination's Blog. They are my very favorite Scrapbook store EVER and they are having a garage sale this weekend...WHOOT!!!
See ya tomorrow!!

Inspiration Challenge #3
Just a quick post tonight. This month is my turn to post a photo for the inspiration challenge between Carrie, "The Artistic Avenger" and myself. This photo is from Pottery Barn's most recent catalog. I love the bright shade of blue, the hint of green, the funky pattern in the background and the monogram on the bottle. You have until Thursday the 15th to post a comment with a link to your blog or gallery. I will post everyone's link on Saturday for those of you who want to check back and see what other creations everyone came up with. No prize this month, just a chance to be inspired and have some fun! Come on...come play with us!!

Happy Mother's Day!
Here is a picture of Corbin, myself along with Aly and Ty surrounding us this morning. Al and the kids made me Creme Brulee French Toast for breakfast and then had me open a few wonderful gifts. I was certainly spoiled today.
Speaking of Mother's day, hello...my Mom rocks! I couldn't have picked a better woman to teach me, inspire me, and definitely put up with me. A wise man (my kids principal from last year) had told a few of us at school that "most people would give up our lives for their children, but few actually live for our children". That really hit home and made me realize, yes that is what being a parent is about, living for your kids! So with that thought in mind, a very happy Mother's day to my Mom who indeed has lived for me and to all of you Mommies out there who are living for their child(ren)! You guys all rock!!
For my Scrappin' Sunday I made this page thinking about Mother's Day. The top picture is my Mom holding me (her first baby of three). The bottom picture is Me with Ty (my first baby of three). The picture of my Mom and I has a bright blur on the bottom corner, only guessing that it is a finger or some weird flash thing. Gotta love those 70's pictures. The picture of Ty and myself I cropped down and put a vanilla border around it to mimic the first picture. I used one of the "Sketch This" layouts for this page and I think I may still add a little journal box towards the bottom.
Now the card, I made this probably a month ago right after I got this Gina K stamp set. I guess the flower is really a daffodil, but at first glance I thought it was an iris. When I was, gosh maybe 10 years old my Mom had bought me a beautiful comforter set with periwinkle irises all over it. I loved that comforter! So my very first idea for the stamp (that I thought was an iris) was this card. I used my scor-pal on two pieces of white card stock and scored a quilted pattern. One piece was for the actual card and the second white piece was for a stencil. I cut out the center of one of the diamond shapes and lined it up over the top of my card base. I then stamped the flower part on top of the stencil and repeated hitting every diamond. I used chalk pencils to color in the flower and add a Iris beard (this is when I actually figured out the flower was not an iris...hello ding dong). I used an almost amethyst Stampin' UP! marker to faux stitch the scored lined giving the pattern a little more dimension. This is the card that I gave my Mom for Mother's Day last night when we went out to celebrate.
No "Sunday Blues" tonight! *wink* Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

A Very Little Boat
Happy Thursday! One more day and we are finally off for two..whoot!
What do you all have planned for Mother's Day? We will be celebrating my Mother-In-Law's birthday along with Mother's Day on Saturday at our house with Al's sister and her family. For my Mom, just the two of us will go out and spend some time together. Then Sunday, it is my day!! Do you know what I want to do... have a lovely breakfast, share the morning with my family and then have the rest of the day in my studio playing with paper. Is that selfish?? I feel like I am being a wee bit selfish.
Alrighty on to the card... Kristina posted her "Color Challenge #8" last night so I quick ran in my studio and whipped this up so that I could post it this morning. I really should have been sitting with Al instead of making this card, because he was busy editing my Friday Flick by himself. Sorry honey...I love you!! BTW, thanks to everyone who has left Al kuddos for fixing my blog. Al helps me out a lot with all this technical stuff as well as with the kiddos. Al ROCKS, sorry ladies he is mine LOL!! Anyway, the colors for this challenge are brilliant blue, bashful blue, pumpkin pie and whisper white (all Stampin' UP!). I used the 1 1/4" & 1" circle punches to create the waves in the water. The little boat is from ABC Images by Stampin' UP! The swirly flourish in the sky (thought it kinda looked like it could be the wind blowing) is from the Fancy Pants set "Alpha Chic" inked with bashful blue and stamped off once. The sentiment is from Stampin UP! as well, "Wavy Verses". I used a white gel pen to accent the pumpkin zig zagged piece at the bottom and diamond Stickles to hi-light the waves. Lastly I used the corner ticket punch on the corners of the whisper white piece. This card measures 4 1/4" squared.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a super day!!
Wednesday Challenge Combo #2
UPDATE: A little Toot (as Laura would say) for me. I won the sketch contest over at Paper Trunk for my "Ten Things About Me" page. It was a random pick, but hey still a winner or maybe weiner.LOL! Just thought I would share. *smiles*
I was waiting all night for Kristina to post her color challenge, but she must be busy. So, instead I chose to use Caardvarks "Hot" challenge and CPS' #63 sketch challenge together. I used paper from MME's "Magnolia" stack and Stampin' UP!'s real red, and glorious green card stock. I couldn't find any sentiments that would really fit this card, so I just left it blank. When Al and I went away for our Anniversary we had room service one day for lunch. Our meal came with this tiny little bottle of Tabasco sauce, isn't it cute. I quick grabbed it and knew I could use it for something crafty. Al of course thought I was nuts, but looky looky it matches this card and would be so cute as a B'day gift for someone who likes it spicey!!
I need to tape my Friday Flick today, if the sun comes out that is. It is rainy today and boy oh boy was the thunder loud at 5AM..yikes! I also need to make up my samples for my stamp camp, which is this Friday. AAhhh Ty has a concert tonight, so I need to find his black dress pants and get those washed. Busy busy girl today, so I better run! Have a good one and thanks for stopping by.

A quick Tuesday Post
Hi all!
Sorry I haven't posted since Sunday. I am not sure where yesterday went. This is just a quick card that I put together with a simple layout. I used water color paper, stazon black ink, tombow markers and a aqua pen to color it all in. Easy peasy!!
I will be back tomorrow with a Wednesday Combo Challenge. See ya then!!

Scrapping Sunday...
Here we are, Sunday night already. Where did the weekend go? I had a ton of fun on Saturday at my LSS, Scrapbook Destination. They were not only celebrating NSD, but it was also the stores one year anniversary. I spent a good hour and a half there and picked up a few goodies. Now I can enjoy hours and hours of stamping, like I couldn't before. LOL!
Alrighty, on to my first page, this is the page that matches my Friday Card this week. The layout if from Sketch It and I used the same products on both the card and this page as you can see. Well I did use my Cricut on this page for the "1st", where I didn't use it at all on the card. These pictures were taken on Aly's first b'day eating up her chocolate cupcake covered with whip cream. She really enjoyed it as you can see. Yummy!
This second page is what I worked on last night after seeing the challenge on Paper Trunk. They have four layout challenges, I only had time for one though. I call this my "Ten Things About Me" page. One of the goodies I bought yesterday was this cool new flourish stamp. This stamp is by Fancy Pants only in a smaller set called "Chic Alpha". LOVE IT!!! It comes with a really cool alphabet as well. Gonna get some use out of this one for sure! I also found the little license plate that had Iowa on it, so I had to pick that up! I was born in Iowa, but moved to Colorado when I was really little. I did spend most of my school vacations in Iowa though visiting family. I still love to go out especially in the fall, its gorgeous!
One more quick find that I wanted to share is the stamp set called "Hand Crafted By" from Stampendous. There are a ton of cute little images in this set including the little shopping cart, pair of scissors and small flower. TOO stinkin' cute!
Well thanks for stopping by. Gotta run and start the process of getting ready for Monday...blah! Hope you had a great weekend!

A quick sketch challenge
Happy Saturday!
I saw this sketch over at NuNu Toolies yesterday and thought I would play with it this morning. The little certainly celery frame is from Creative Cuts and More. The brad in the center of the flower was a large bright green brad (didn't care for the color) that I covered with a piece of pink paper that I had stamped to match the border. The stamp is from Fancy Pants inked with Sahara Sand classic ink from SU. I am not sure who makes the ribbon, everything else is from Stampin' UP! I like how soft these colors are and I am not really a pastel person. Thanks for the sketch Kazan, your creations ROCK!!
The winner of the blog candy contest from last Sunday is.........Brenda Turner. Thanks to everyone who participated, I loved hearing what yummies you like to eat. My kids are begging me to make my cupcakes now. May have to add that to the list of things to do today.

Friday Card Flick "Birthday Wishes"
Yeah, its Friday and that means a "Friday Card Flick". I need to apologize for the poor lighting in the video. I look about half dead...guess I am tired. Next time I will definitely tape during the day when I have some nice natural light. Anyway, for this week's card I used layout #48 from Sketch This. Earlier this week I had mentioned that I wanted to make a card and a scrapbook page using the same layout and products. Here is the card and on Sunday, May 4th I will post the matching scrapbook page. Thanks to Janelle for the inspiring layout and her design team for their fabulous creations.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy Friday!
