Baby Boy

A friend of mine whom I have known since the first grade just had a baby boy. We lost touch around high school and because of Facebook we have reunited.  I have been meaning to get a card made for her, so I decided to use the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You this week. Thanks for the inspiring sketch Laura.
I literally just used a bunch of scraps I had laying around to make this and I am so happy with how it turned out.

How about a layout...

I know... I said I would post a card a couple of days ago, but I still haven't had a chance to take any pictures. Our 4 year old had the flu over the long weekend. Now both of our boys got it last night....so nasty!!!

So for now I will show you a layout I did for the Soulology Course Design Team. Now that the class is over I can share some of the layouts I did. The class was created and  taught by Erika and was absolutely fantastic!! Such a valuable learning tool.

I thought this layout would be appropriate since my kiddos are feeling so rotten. Even though they are spraying me with bodily fluids and are crabby they still mean everything to me.

A Paper Flower Topiary

For my DT project this month for Creative Cuts and More I decided to use some of their sweet little flowers and hearts to make this topiary. The topiary itself was already put together and covered in moss so that made the job super easy. All I did was attach the flowers with wedding pins and voila! These would make easy center pieces for any holiday, showers or weddings. Check out Creative Cuts and More's fabulous selection of die cuts. The flowers I used will be on their website soon, but if you need them now just give them a call Terry will be happy to help just mention my topiary.
Thanks for stopping by.

Don't forget to head over to 3D Design Challenge, Carrie and I have
a new challenge up with a great prize this week.

Celebrating

This weekend Aly, my creative consultant and studio roommate created this little puff box. The pony (has to be a pony, not a horse according to Aly the expert) is actually the little zebra from Melanie's set "Jumping For Joy". All I did was ink up the outline of the zebra, color her in, add a longer main and tale. Since I cut the pony out of card stock I covered it in Crystal Effects to make it a little more sturdy. The star and sentiment are also from this stamp set. The puff box is from the best die cut place in the biz, Creative Cuts and More. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the die cut before I folded it together.

Check out Melanie's blog to see the list of other great artists who have made creations with  her awesomely (is that a word??) illustrated stamp sets. Happy Blog Anniversary Melanie!

On a personal note, just wanted to wish my baby girl a happy birthday. I can't believe she is 4 years old today. Where have the last 4 years gone. Aly was 5 lbs 4 oz when she was born and so sweet and tiny. Now our big girl is a sweet petite fire cracker with a hilarious sense of humor and no fear of telling people what she wants. Happy Birthday Aly!

Celebrating Melanie's Blog Anniversary

I apologize for my lack of blogging as of late. I have been dealing with some personal issues for the past few months, which I am working on and will hopefully be resolving soon. Thank you everyone who has contacted me to see how things are going. Hugs to you!!

SO...on to my project today...yes finally a project...woo hoo!! As many of you know I am a huge Colorado Avalanche hockey fan, so I needed a sweet frame to go with a picture we had taken about 6 years ago. I can't believe it has been that long!! I made the Avalanche jersey for this picture frame using the stamp set, "Just So Sporty" designed by Melanie Muenchinger.  I altered the shirt stamp to look like it is from the NHL. I think this is one of my favorite stamp sets from Melanie, because I can alter that jersey to fit just about any sport. The hockey stick, puck and word "Hockey" are all great die cuts from Creative Cuts and More.

Melanie is celebrating a year of blogging over at her blog “Hands, Head and Heart”.  Melanie and her guest designers will be sharing cards and projects  from all her sets released through Gina K Designs this past year and prizes will be up for grabs!  Sponsors include, Gina K Designs, My Favorite Things, Scor-pal, Paper Temptress, and Melanie herself, who is donating, among other goodies, a brand new box of Copic Ciaos!  There will be also be challenges, contests, and a Who’s Who “Where are they Now?” on several of her past contest winners and guest designers! Come join in the fun and help spread the word, see you there! I am so honored that Melanie has thought of me and has asked me to contribute. Thanks  and congrats Melanie!!
Here are some very talented ladies who are also posting and helping Melanie celebrate, go check them out!

I will be back again tomorrow with another project using another Gina K stamp set designed by Melanie.

Wednesday  I will post the winner of my little holiday challenge, which I completely slacked off on...sorry.
