Piece Of Cake!

Here they are...my bridal shower favors/centerpiece. The cake boxes and little leaves are from Creative Cuts and More and like I said earlier this week, their paper is so gorgeous! I chose two different shades of cream colored paper one is opal and the other is caramel. I will fill each box with some sort of treats, just not sure what yet...any suggestions? The top piece of cake is the only only that is stamped on and I used Fancy Pants stamps. I used SU
Cho
colate Chip Craft ink then embossed with Iridescent Ice EP to give the faux chocolate layer a little shimmer. Of course this top piece is for the bride to take home. Hope she likes it.
Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow for another Friday Card Flick!!

*On a personal note I would like to wish a HAPPY 37th Anniversary to my wonderful Parents! Love you guys!!

3D Wednesday!

Here is another "One Sheet Box" for our challenge over at 3DDC. Go check out the gallery over there, all I can say is WOW! We had a great turn out and all of the entries were AWESOME. I am totally inspired now and want to make a house like Heidi's.
For my box/bag I altered the score lines to widen the box a bit so that I could fit some A2 sized cards in here as a gift set. Everything to make this bag is from Blue Hill, more of my prize package from Paper Crafts magazine.
Now if I can get into my studio today and start making some of those cake boxes. I will try to get at least one done to show you tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by and as always, thanks for the sweet comments!

For the Bride to be

I have a bridal shower luncheon to go to next Monday, so I got one of these beautiful die cut (the dress is cut out of the front of the card, but I have the shape pushed through to take the photo here) card from Creative Cuts and More this weekend (it will be on their website SOON). Oh my goodness, this is some of their Stardream "Opal" metallic paper and it is so luscious! Seriously I can't believe how gorgeous this paper is in real life. The photo just doesn't do this paper justice. It's smooth and creamy, good enough to eat....yummy!

The little dress piece is a separate shape and this little gown is addictive to design. I had so much fun putting accents on it I was sad when it was finished....I wanted to make more dresses! The pearls and rhinestones are als
o from Creative Cuts and come in a cool little kit with a tool to help apply these little gems. They do not come with adhesive, so you would need to use diamond glaze or I just used Tombo clear glue and it worked great! I added some narrow white sating ribbon and tied a bow on the backside, then draped the ribbon down the sides. I tried to keep this simple. The bride is doesn't like a lot of fuss, so less is more.

I will be working on cake boxes also from CC&M, hopefully this week for the
luncheon as a center piece. I will get a picture of those when I finish to share with you all. I got them in the same gorgeous paper in two different shades...woo hoo!
Tomorrow is 3D Wednesday, so stop back by to see my altered one sheet box and don't forget to get your entry in today. You have until 9PM MST or -7GST.
Thanks!!

Sunday already!

Wow this weekend flew by fast, so just a quick post today. All I had time to make yesterday was my altered "One Sheet Box" for this Wednesday's post for 3DDC. Good thing I had this as a back up.
This is a layout that I did almost a month ago I believe. Just playing around with different items around the house, like those little "Life" game pieces. I got my title from Jem's song "Just a Ride". OH so true... life its just a ride, guess you might as well enjoy it.

Enjoy the rest of your day and have fun watching Jem!

Check out what my friend Donna!

My blogger friend Donna, from Serenity In Stamping, who I am sure many of you know and adore is in a contest over at Just Rite Stampers. Donna has made it into the third round of a contest they have going on right now through Monday night. Check out here adorable Tic Tac Toe game set and vote at the top left corner of the blog.
I know Donna would love your support! Just like Donna, I know how it feels to be judged upon who you know and not what you know. Best Wishes Donna...you rock girl!!
Thanks!

Friday Card Flick "Spooky"

Sorry this is late...
Happy Friday all and you know what that means, Friday Card Flick time. This weeks card was made using, tissue paper, SU cardstock and.... Penguin Pants Stamps. I am so impressed with these stamps. The quality of these clear stamps is amazing and best of all the ink doesn't bead up when you go to use them the first time. Supah!!! Of course now I "need" more, and it doesn't help that they have such cute images. Penguin Pants is also 3D Design Challenge's October Sponsor, so look for more great projects over there using their stamps in October. I will of course have more samples here in the near future as well! SO run and go check out Penguin Pants....well watch the video first. LOL! Here ya go....thanks for stopping by

*A major apology to Mattea, I ended up pronouncing your name wrong anyway...sorry honey! I will get it right next time. I caught myself while I finished up the movie here at midnight and couldn't go back to change it. Sorry :(

Check This Out!

More new toys to play with! The "Check This Out" arrow and the sentiment "Awesome" are from "Little Yellow Bicycle" and were part of my Gallery Idol prize. I believe I received the whole "Zach's Life", the stamps, chipboard, pattern papers, album...the list goes on! I was so totally spoiled....tee hee!! A great line of products if you have boys, I have three (including my DH of course). The cute little cupcake and the sentiment "happy day" are from Stampin' UP as well as the punched out arrows and paper. I made this card for Kristina's color challenge, gotta love her challenges! SO, this is what I came up with... I wonder if I could get away with giving it to a boy?? Maybe too much pink in there heh?
Anyway, thanks Kristina for another fun color challenge!!

Speaking of Gallery Idol, I have decided to Chair the "Reflections" program at school. After going through the whole Gallery Idol contest I felt that Chairing Reflections and bringing it to our school would be a way of giving back to my community. I would love to give kids the opportunity to feel special about their artistic abilities and support their creativity. I am so lucky to have three other volunteers to help me with it. Have any of you done this program here in the US? It is basically a science fair type of situation only for the Arts. There are categories and a whole judging process, ribbons a ceremony and all. I am really hoping I can get as many kids interested as possible and to make each and everyone of them feel special about what they create.

See ya tomorrow for my Friday Card Flick!!

3D Wednesday!

Here you go, another 3D Wednesday here and over at 3D Design Challenge! This week we are making the super easy "One Sheet Box". For my box here I used paper and a paper accent frame from Scenic Route. The sentiment is from Gina K designed by Melanie Muenchinger, love this saying Melanie!! The ribbon is white taffeta from SU which was woven through a series of 8 punched holes through the front and back then tied in the front center. Super easy and a fabulous candy or small gift holder. I think I may make a few of these for a bridal luncheon coming up in a few weeks....ooh the creative juices are a flowing..yippee!
Hurry on over to 3DDC for your free downloadable template. Make one of your own and share it with us. Carrie and I are also looking for WOW inspiring 3D items, read all about it here!

Pretty Bird

Wow, where did the long weekend go? Got some much needed rest, Aly is feeling better and I am more with it since I got a couple of naps..woo hoo!
I had a chance to play most of Monday afternoon, which hello...doesn't that just make any crafty girls day! This is one of the cards I made and it was inspired by Kazan's sketch at 2S4Y. I got all of the yummy paper, rub-ons and chipboard buttons made by Blue Hill as part of my Paper Crafts "Gallery Idol" prize. This line is simply gorgeous and I have been afraid to dig into it. Now that I have, you will probably see more of it soon... baby steps... baby steps. Some times it just hurts cutting into such pretty paper...yes I know I am a dork.

See you tomorrow with my project and new FREE downloadable template for 3D Design Challenge. PLUS find out how you can be "

How To...

This is just a quick idea to save you postage when sending a square card in the mail. One of the large "Greeting Card" companies does this same trick with their envelopes.

1.Place your card on top of your envelope and measure the space which is empty on the left side (looking at the front of your envelope). My strip of filler paper is approximately 1 1/4" wide x 4 1/4" tall. You should still have a nice even space around each element. This is a good way to measure any size of envelope you are working with, whether it is an A2 or A7.

2.Using a decorative punch which is no wider then 3/4". Punch through the entire side of your envelope making sure you have approximately 1/2" of space on the edge.

3.Slide a piece of patter paper or solid color paper that matches your card inside your envelope. Make sure it is right up against the sides. Now using a glue stick or other adhesive, adhere the envelope to your paper. Make sure you get around the punched areas really well so they don't lift up when going through the Postal Services machines. Let dry

4.Place your card inside the envelope, should fit snug, but still have room to pull in and out without a struggle.

Here you have it, a decorative envelope that holds your square card snug and save you postage!

Oh and I have been nominated for another award by Jackie. Jackie has some really cute stuff on her blog make sure to check it out.
For some reason I am not able to save any images to my computer. SO for those awarded please go to Jackie's site and grab her image to use...sorry. Another issue my poor DH is going to have to look into.

The rules for the "Blogging Friends Forever" award are:* Only five people allowed* Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog* One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog or lives in another part of the world.* You must link back to whoever gave you the award.* The winner can put the logo on his/her blog.

1. Jen
2. Dawn
3. Cat
4. Christi
5. Maria isn't in another part of the world (one rule broken), she is actually in the same state. Maria is new to me though and I love her stuff!
