Scrapbook News and Review is also the host to the cardmaking mega network: The Card Universe This is a paradise built just for you. We feature a sketch library, video vault, a huge list of tutorials, blog rolls, events, and more. This is an amazing network of friends, fun and inspiration- and we would love to have you join us!

Shape up, our challenge theme this time around over Caardvarks. Just think of all the shapes you can make besides the basic square or standard rectangular cards we all do. It was really a nice change and challenge to create a card with a "shape" to it. My card today is really appropriate because it is suppose to hit 90 degrees here in Denver. An ice cream will be much needed this afternoon I am sure!

I created my card using the "Doodlebug Charms" Cricut cartridge. I liked the way the top of the ice cream looked, but the cone was a little off for me. SO...I make my own cone, scored it with my Scorpal and rubbed some barely banana craft ink across the embossing to help show off the texture. I then add the cone to the cream, fit it to a white card stock card. I added some little rhinestones and Ice Stickles from Creative Cuts and More a button and ribbon which are from SU and a little "Thank You" charm. Really pretty easy actually.

Now it is your turn, create a shape card...any shape and link your creation to the Mr. Linky section over at Caardvarks. You could win a 3 month subscription to SNR. Don't forget to check out all of the absolutely fabulous creations the rest of the Caardvarks Crew has created for this challenge...AMAZING and oh so inspiring!!

Thanks for looking.

A quick one...

Just a quick post today. I made this card for one of the Moxie Fab World challenges. This umbrella diecut is from CC&M. I have some more of these umbrellas so I am going to have to come up with some other ways to use them.

I will be back Wednesday with my Caardvarks creation as well as info on our newest challenge.

Happy Monday!

Welcome CC&M Blog Hoppers!

Our theme this blog hop is "Baby" & "Albums". I am the last stop in the Creative Cuts and More blog hop today. If you are checking in here first please click on over to the beginning at Die Cut Diva, the blog of the Creative Cuts and More design team.

I chose to work with the baby
theme for this round. I think my favorite die cut from Creative Cuts and More has to be the baby shoe. I loved this little favor box, but what really pushed me to create such detailed shoes was Jennifer's set. Jennifer was a CC&M guest designer and my mouth hit the floor when I saw her shoes and the box she attached them to.I knew once I saw these that the decorating options for the shoes were endless. They are so addictive....I can't stop making them!
I have made single shoes and pairs of shoes which I have attached to simple paper mache boxes and decorated to match. I have even sold a few of these box sets, they are really cute in person and make a one of a kind gift container.

Once I got into baby shoe mode I decided to try out the adorable diaper card die cut. I wanted to make this diaper card into an announcement so I used the tag from the tag pocket set. I trimmed of the bottom corners off of the tag so that it would fit into the diaper without protruding out the bottom sides. I ran both the diaper and tag through the Cuttlebug using the "Swiss Dots" folder to give the set a little more texture. The diaper was cut from Double Mates cardstock, which has a little bit of texture. Double Mates is a cardstock that has a dark and a light side, so depending on your needs you have a choice. For mine I went with the lighter shade then ran white chalk ink over the embossed dots to make them really pop!

NOW for the PRIZE...
you must go back to Die Cut Diva and use the secret word in your comment, which is "The Diva Dozen". Your comment will then be put into our drawing for a chance to win the Bare Elements Castle Album and coordinating Castle Mini Album Set. You have until this Thursday, May 14th at 11:59 PM to leave your comment on the blog hop thread. The winner will be announced Friday, May 15th. Good Luck!!

Happy Mother's Day!

First of all I would like to wish all of you fellow Moms out there a fabulous Mother's Day! Boy did the month of May sneak up on us or what?!

Second, here is the card that I made for my Mom. I told her it was an award winning card, which is true...you can check it out over at Paper Crafts Connection. I received some cool Verve stamps, some embossing powders, glitter, a couple of small ink pads and some design adhesives. It is always so much fun to get a treat like that in the mail. Yeah!!! When I get a chance I will recreate this gift card holder and make either a picture tutorial or a video so that you can see how I made it.

Third I wanted to remind you that the Creative Cuts and More blog hop starts tomorrow morning, so stop on by and check out all of the creations the design team and guest designers will have on their blogs for you to view. As always there will be a yummy prize for one lucky winner!!

Off to spend a great day with my family and hopefully some much needed time away in my craft studio!

Happy Mother's Day!!
hugs,
Pam
