A Little Thank You

I just received my "Curly Label Punch Bundle" from Stampin' UP and here is my very first card. I chose some pattern paper from Scenic Route to see what color combos I could come up with. This way when I am ready to order for Stamp Camps I will know which color schemes I want to get in large quantities. This card is 4.25" x 4.25", so it will still fit inside a regualr A2 envelope. I have a little trick to accent the envelope when making a square card like this, so stop on by tomorrow for that.

On another note, my friend Karie aka 1 Crafty Gal has started a fabulous program. Her little boy Dominic was born a preemie, so she has started "Pages for Preemies". This is her mission which you can read more about on the website:

"Our mission is simple. I would like to provide each and every parent of a NICU baby with a completed scrapbook page. So many parents with children in NICU don’t get to touch, hold, kiss or sadly, bring their baby home; a pre-made scrapbook page allowing them to slip a picture of their precious little one is perfect. Parents can hang it on their baby’s crib/incubator and eventually take it home with them to place in a scrapbook or frame.
"

What a fabulous idea and such a kind a thoughtful thing to do! I hope to send a few pages or at least some supplies here in the next month or so. If you are interested please contact Karie... Thanks!!

See you tomorrow
Hugs,
Pam

Friday Card Flick "What Would I Do"

Happy Friday and a long weekend whoot! This card was inspired by Laura's sketch over at 2S4Y. I missed their sketch last week over there, so I wanted to make sure I got to it this week! Laura also had a birthday this week so make sure you go over and wish her a happy 33rd! Happy b'day Laura!
Have a fabulous weekend and I will see you all Sunday. TTFN

OH and a note...yeah I put Friday, August 28th. This is what happens when I need more sleep, sorry it is suppose to be August 29th! duh. Hopefully a full night of sleep tonight...fingers crossed!

Too early for Halloween?

This coffin box is one of my projects for the Creative Cuts and More design team. I was thinking about my boys and how I could design this so they would think it was cool enough to give to their classmates. I tend to make things look girlie ya know. SO this is what I came up with using the CC&M coffin die cut, MSE "Rock Star" stamp set and the "Weathered" (retired) back ground stamp from Stampin' UP! I wonder how fast I can whip out 50 of these puppies for class parties? Actually putting the box together is super easy, so if I modify the design I bet it would take no time at all to make these for party favors. Maybe I would be the cool Mom in the class for making these. LOL!
Going to try to get my FCF done today in time for posting tomorrow. Aly got sick Tuesday night, which meant I got no sleep at all, which of course blew my plans for playing yesterday. Instead we sat on the couch and watched the Muppet Movie. Aly had never seen it and it has been easily 25 years since I have seen it. Funny how you never forget the words to the songs though. Gotta love "Rainbow Connection" by Kermie. Anyway... last night was a little better. Aly only woke up three times, so I at least got spurts of 2-3 hours of sleep in a row woo hoo! I am home with her today again, our day care lady is sick now. SO, I am going to take my fill of vitamin C and hope I can fight off the little bit of the bug that I have now. Fingers crossed... hello Mom's don't have time to be sick!
See ya tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by.

It's 3D Wednesday!

Happy hump day and a happy 3D day! Over at 3D Design Challenge today is gallery day. Carrie and I have posted all of the creations turned in and WOW, what a great job you have all done. This is the box I made using a very altered milk carton template. I left off the top section of score marks and cut off part of the template completely.

Here is a picture of what I was left with after making the cuts.

Today is my "day off" and I am so ready to get into my studio and play for a while. My crafty schedule has changed a bit and instead of being able to create something everyday I now have to go back to playing on Wednesdays and the weekends. SO, hopefully my creative mojo will kick start itself right away this morning. The nice thing about having a schedule like this, is that I figure out exactly what I need to get done and I just do it. Thank goodness this weekend is a long one! Woo hoo!
Have a fabulous day and I will see you tomorrow!

home sweet home

This is the second card I made on Sunday afternoon. I was checking out challenges and decided to use the sketch over at CPS. I love the card that Charity did and that is the card that really inspired me to make this one. Thanks Charity!
The house is from Maya Road which I rubbed with Certainly Celery Craft Ink then coated with Glassy Glaze Enamel EP from Stampin' UP! I guess the last time I used it I somehow got some black EP mixed in there so I have little black specks on my house, which didn't turn out to be a bad thing. The little heart in the center of the house is also from Maya Road, but covered with red ink and the same Glassy Glaze Enamel EP. The polka dot swirly piece is from Making Memories and the vintage lace is from...who knows where...sorry. The flower is from ELE and the brads are also Making Memories. I wrote out the word "home", couldn't think of a set that I owned that had that word in it.
Well I will see ya all tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate Love

Had to push myself to get my creative Mojo going on this weekend. Thought I would give Shelli's "Celebrate" challenge a try. I grabbed some vintage crocheted lace and decided on purple and green for my color scheme and this is what happened! I have never done the faux metal trick, so I decided why not and made the butterfly by inking up a piece of cardstock with Versa Mark then adding layer after layer of silver EP. Once I thought it was think enough I sprinkled some gold EP on top and as soon as it was hot I stamped the butterfly which was inked up with Versa Mark so it wouldn't stick into the hot EP. This made the impression which I cut out. Kinda cool. I will have to play with this technique a bit more. I think it would be a lot of fun to do in different colors.
Hope you all had a great weekend! Can't believe it is Monday already!
Thanks for stopping by.

FCF "Clearly My Friend"

Happy Friday!!! Here is another acetate front card for ya, very similar to the "You Rock" pink card I made earlier this week. Per request, my dorky self has an intro for you this week. Thanks to Cat, Chloe and Matt for missing me!
I am sure I will have the song in the video stuck in my head all day LOL!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
Thanks for stopping by and for the Fab-U-Lous comments!
(((Hugs)))

You SO Rock!

Gee you guys rock twice in one week! LOL Sorry I couldn't resist... really you guys are the best!
I had this stamp set by MSE out from another project that I was working on today. I was inspired by a picture of some colanders in a magazine that were stacked up on top of each other and hello...they were all SU "in colors". Seriously who gets to make the call on what colors are going to be "IN" for the year??? SO, I lined up strips of the new "in colors" along with Barely Banana (that color was in the photo too) taped them together and stamped the image. I used Basic Black craft ink and embossed with Holographic... EP. Just realized that EP isn't in the new SU catty...hmmm where have I been?? Oh well, it works good on dark ink so I will keep using it until its gone. Anyhow, this is the card I came up with. Probably a little too girlie for a boy, so it may have to go to a niece or other cool Chica of mine.
Don't forget to check out 3D Design Challenge for your free Milk Carton template. We had a great turn out last week, but we would love to see more of you participate! Come on you know you want to!!
Tomorrow is Friday Card Flick day again! I actually taped an intro this week, just for those of you who made the comment that you missed me on the last couple...aaah you guys so rock!
Thanks for stopping by!

3D Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day! Half way through the w
eek already..woo hoo! Hopefully I will get some spare time to get some projects done today! Looking forward to playing for a bit!

Here is my latest 3D project for 3D Design Challenge. Hop on over to get your free template and m
ake one yourself! I had some Scenic Route paper with this wave pattern on it laying around and decided to cut it up and wrap it around the bottom of my milk carton. I stamped some sand and Palm Trees to get that tropical theme going on and added some flowers from Prima and that cute little crab eyelet from Eye-Lets Etc. and other stamped images all from Printworks to the box. Not sure what I will use this for, could put some coconut candies inside or something I suppose. I am open for suggestions of course! Hope you enjoy and think outside of the box when making your own!
Come play with us!!

Quick post

Happy Tuesday!
Didn't have much time to play around last night, so here is a card that I made for my stamp camp on Friday night. Super easy and quick, gotta love that. It also matches the 2-4-6-8 box I made here.
That's it for today, sorry so short. I will be back tomorrow with my latest project for 3D Design Challenge. Also you have until tonight 9PM MST or GST-7 to enter your 2-4-6-8 project in our challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to Creative Cuts & More!
Thanks for stopping by!

You Rock

Poor Kristina is having a rough couple of weeks. Her back went out and then her blog threw up, so she decided to post the sketch she drew up which was for her MACM. Since her back is out she can't sit at the table to make her card and movie, so she challenged us to use her sketch. This is what I came up with. The top layer is acetate stamped with my Fancy Pants "Alpha Chic" flourish with black Stazon ink. Then I add some Making Memories black glitter sticker letters to spell out the sentiment. The actual card is SU's new in color Pink Pirouette with a rectangle of Whisper White added to the center. The Whisper White piece was kissed with Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette ink. I attached the acetate sheet with a small brad in the top right and in the bottom left corner with a flower and large heart brad. The flower is a rub-on from SU that I put on to white card stock then cut out. The large brad is also from Making Memories. This came together really fast, which always rocks in my book. May have to do a similar version for my FCF this week. Any colors you would like to see me use??
Wow so my personal life has gotten crazy, well not crazy just a little more scheduled. I have started a part time job filing and have also taken on a few hours with a paper crafting company. LOVE getting a little extra cash for working with Paper woo hoo! My original plans were to go back to school myself, but with the kids schedule the holidays fast approaching it is best that I wait a bit and earn a few extra dollars instead of spend them. Plus Aly needs Pre-school more then I need a degree right now. I have also been asked to be on the Creative Cuts and More design team..toot! Very excited about that! I absoluetly love their products, I am sure you have heard me talk about them before. Lastly I also have a friend interested in signing up as a SU demo under me which is AWESOME! Really looking forward to getting to know her better and working on some projects together with her. *wink wink...you know who you are friend* Lots going on now, but nothing I can't handle...tee hee! Gee and this all happened within this week...crazy huh!
Dont' forget you have until Tomorrow 9PM MST (GST -7) to link your 2468 creations to 3D Design Challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to Creative Cuts and More! Wednesday Carrie and I will have a new challenge for you to play with, our 2468 gallery and announce our winner!
Thanks for stopping by. See ya tomorrow!

Jumping For Joy!

Yes, I am jumping for joy! I received my blog candy from Melanie Muenchinger which was the stamp set she designed for Gina K, called "Jumping For Joy". I turned the little zebra into a colt, cause because I could. LOL! I love the long eyelashes and little heart spot on his forehead. Melanie's animals are so sweet, all of them! Thank you so much Melanie for the great candy! I have lot of ideas for this set..woo hoo!
I used my SU small tag punch and weathered back ground stamp to make the fence post, so it looks like this little guy is out in a fenced off pasture. I made the cloud template by punching come cirlces out of card stock then sponged Whisper White Craft ink over it. Easy Peasy!!
Well I must run, I am working on a ton of stuff for a bunch of different things...gee vague huh! Have a wonderful Sunday, what is left of it.

Clearly It's Gina K

Happy Friday Card Flick day! I love Fridays, mostly because I love sharing my videos with you all. This Friday is special though, because I am showing off a fabulous technique using Crystal Effects & re-inkers to paint on acetate. Since I am on the very extended Gina K design team aka... proud customer of Gina's products. It was "clearly" obvious to me which set to use when making this card. When you purchase any three stamp sets you will receive a "One Free with 3" stamp set! "Spring Blooms" was the free set at the time I made my first purchase from Gina K. Oh my word, seriously if you want great customer service the company is the place to shop. I received my order quickly and I was surprised to find a bag of personalized M&M's in with my order. It's those personal small touches that get me. I love Gina's blog and I adore the artists that design some of her stamps. I recently won "Jumpin For Joy" from Melanie Muechinger, who designs stamps for Gina. I actually just received it in the mail, thanks Melanie!!! I can't wait to play with it this weekend..woo hoo! Melanie is fantastic and I adore her artwork, as well as Cammie's, and Rupa's and Asela and...well, they are all fantastic! Gee have I sold you yet?? I love love love Gina K!! You can check out another card that I made with this same set for Mother's Day. It is one of my very favorite cards I have ever made!
Well there you have it as promised... a Gina K kind of day with a Friday Card Flick to boot! Have a wonderful weekend!! In case you didn't notice I am trying out for Gina K's designer of the month, you can too check out the deets here. *wink*
Thanks for stopping by!
Here is my Friday Card Flick "Clearly a Happy Birthday"

Hooked on 3D

My friend Carrie and I have started a 3D challenge blog, maybe you have heard of it...3D Design Challenge. LOL! We wanted to do something together, a challenge blog that was different from the rest. There might just be another blog out there like ours, but for the two of us this is new and very exciting! The response so far has been fabulous and we are so happy! Now I have a problem...I think I am hooked on our challenge. All day I have been thinking about different ways I can decorate or alter this cute little box. I should be designing my 2nd card for my stamp camp which is Friday night, but this is what I did instead. Sorry my stamp campers you may have to make one of these instead of a card....maybe???
If you have a chance and want to make a 2468 box come on over to 3D Design Challenge and play with us this week. You have until next Tuesday, August 19th 9PM MST to complete your box and post a link in order to have a chance at a prize. If you aren't worried about the prize then post your creation's link anytime and we will add it to our gallery list. Come play with us!

I just had to share this second picture. My boys, who are 9 & 11
years old were so stinkin' excited when I showed them that Daily Window Products carries these black backpacks with the clear pocket on the front. This is the same company that asked me to design a few cards for their gallery, which you can read about here. Anyway, I decided it would be a cool back to school thing for them to create their own designer back packs and this is what they did. My DH even got involved and helped them print out this symbol which is from a computer game they are playing. After they printed their symbol out they decided to stamp some skulls and stars and of course the words "rock star" around the edges. They were both so proud of the work that they had done I had to get a picture. I am very proud of them too, for creating something that is special to them and for not just picking something that the "in crowd" is wearing. They are unique and I love them for showing that off! Check out my link over on the right side of my blog for Daily Window Products and check out the cool bags they have. We LOVE ours!!!

Thanks for stopping by. See you tomorrow for lots of my Friday Card Flick, its all kinds of Gina K goodness!!!

Dream du Jour

Oooh soo happy, got some of the new SU "In Colors" card stock yesterday along with two new stamps sets and the scallop punch. I am having a stamp camp this Friday night and may also participate in another card making session/garage sale this Thursday night. So, I need to make a card that is simple enough to make, but doesn't look totally blah. Hopefully this will work. I used Laura's sketch this week from 2S4Y and one of my new stamp sets from SU called "Dreams du Jour". What do you think? I may end up having to cut for 50 cards, hopefully I will have enough "Kiwi Kiss" card stock for that many. The two other colors here are Regal Rose and Sahara Sand.

OK so tomorrow (Wednesday August 13th) is the big day friends!!! Please stop by 3D Design Challenge for our launch party, there will be a free template to download, inspiring samples and of course a prize from our sponsor. Come play with us!!
Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!

CPS #77

Decided this morning to play along with CPS this week. They always have really great sketches and a lot of different takes on it from their design team, which I like. I think that is what inspires me the most, the variety from all of their designers. Everyone is completely different, which is awesome!
Can you tell I am in the back to school spirit. We have our ice cream social tonight and then its back to school tomorrow at 8AM. Blah! Where did the summer go? I know I was just complaining that they were just getting out, but now its time to go back...time just flies by too fast anymore. Well I hope you enjoy, I have lots of last minute school related things to get done today, so I gotta run. Have a super fantastic day!!
Don't forget, only 3 days until the launch of 3D Design Challenge and check out this post for a chance at some major blog candy!!! Spread the word, we are gonna have tons of fun on Wednesday!!

My Favorite Things & a little blog candy

I so love the early 1900's when hats were "in" and everyone wore one. I guess that is the dork in me..."nerdy hat lover". I absolutely love this Gina K set " Thinking of You" created by Rupa Shevde. When I saw the challenge "From Your Closet" over at Caardvarks I knew this was the set I had to reach for. I had some left over paper from the wedding guest book I made (forgot to get pictures before I handed it over...bummer), so that is what I grabbed. There are little flowers on the hat, but I used some pearls and a rhinestone to cover them up and dress it up a bit more. The sentiment is a Marcella K rub-on, and I am really not sure what occasion I will even use this card for. It may go in my pile of cards for this years holiday bizarre??? I used Kazan's sketch from 2S4Y to tie everything together and I think it works.
A couple of cool things to announce... my cupcake box has been put in the Creative Cuts and More gallery woo hoo! They have such awesome die cuts and have added cool paper and bling! Go check them out!
AND... it's getting closer...only 4 more days until the launch party of 3D Design Challenge!!! So here is where the blog candy comes into play.
1. Go over to 3D Design Challenge and leave a comment- worth 1 point
2. Link 3D Design Challenge to your blog and let all your readers know about the fun we will be having on the 13th!- worth 2 points
3. Copy the 3D Design Challenge blinkie and put it on your blog- worth 3 points.
That is a total of 6 times your name can be in the drawing for.... a USPS Flat Rate box FULL of goodies! Everyone is welcome to play!!
You have until 11:59 PM on Tuesday, August 12th to enter. Please be sure to leave us a link to your blog or an email address so that I can get in touch with you if you are the lucky winner! I will draw one lucky person's name on Wednesday morning, August 13, 2008 and post it here! I can't wait to have you all come play with Carrie and myself!

Thanks for stopping by, see you on Monday!

FCF "May all of your dreams come true"

Friday already, so you know what that means, Friday Card Flick day!! This one was inspired by what I like to call a "flat boring store bought card". LOL! I have a really hard time buying cards from the store anymore and if I do it is because they are super funny!
I would like to dedicate this FCF to my friend Karie who celebrated a birthday on the 2nd and also to my good friend Dawn who has a birthday coming up on the 12th. Happy birthdays girls!!
Have a great day! OH and only 5 more days till the launch of 3D Design Challenge...are you getting excited?? I AM!!

2 posts in 1 day...stop the madness!

I was checking out blogs this morning and noticed Kristina threw in a quickie color challenge. So I had to post this today in order to make the deadline. SO...here it is, the color challenge is black, rose red, pumpkin pie, either summer sun or green galore. Super easy this one, with my handy dandy stamp-a-ma-jig "Baroque Motifs" stamp set, Three flower punch and black brads. A totally Stampin' UP! card. Thanks Kristina for a reason to stop cleaning! LOL
Thanks for stopping by and if you missed my earlier post here ya go. See you tomorrow for my Friday Card Flick.

A funky card and some awards

Gee we are flying by here this week... only 6 more days until 3D Design Challenge starts...woo hoo! Carrie and I are having a lot of fun getting things ready for our big first day!! Don't forget to stop by on Wednesday, August 13!!
On another note, if the word b*tch offends you then I apologize for this card. I found these stickers called "Alpha Bitch" last month and have been trying to figure out how to incorporate them into some of my cards. Blue Q.com has a lot of funny gag gift items, check them out if you have a slighty dirty sense of humor. I was in a mood Tuesday, most likely because of the time of month and said to myself, it is time to use one of those stickers! This card just kinda happened, a I had bunch of pieces laying around on my table and this one sticker just popped out at me. Perfect...for how I was feeling! I am happy to say I did have a piece of my most favorite chocolate, dark chocolate flakey truffles by Choxie. You only need one piece too, so even though they are $5 a box, they are SOOO worth it..yummy!
Now onto the award stuff. I can't believe how many awards I have gotten as of late, wow you guys like me! tee hee! Kim has given me two already in the last couple of weeks, Dawn gave me one as well and the list goes on. SO, instead of posting 5 friends bloggin that I like and why, 6 odd things about myself, and 5 reasons why I craft and on an on I will just say thanks to all of you for supporting me. I love when you leave me comments, I do try to get back to your site to recipricate. I love to see what you are all doing as well. My list of favorites just keeps getting longer and longer. It is starting to take me a couple of hours just to make it through my list and read what you are all up to, but I love it and will continue to do so!
SO, real quick... I choose Karie as a bloggin buddy who always makes me laugh. I am 5'3" tall (funny when people meet me for the first time who have only seen pictures of me online say "wow your tiny"). 1 reason why I craft, it relieves stress!
Have a super day and see you tomorrow for my Friday Card Flick!

Baby Elephant

Another baby card using Imaginisce PP. I love this little elephant, isn't it the cutest. The bright pink Gerber Daisy and Bazzill card stock are from Eye-Lets Etc . I covered the center of the flower with a "circle frame" from Printworks then embossed with pink EP. I cut out a Mellow Moss (by SU) and layered it behind the sentiment and accented with white Souffle pen (by Sakura). The ribbon is just a piece of SU twill tape tied in a knot. Oh the sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly the "Annoucing Baby" set.
That is it for today. Carrie and I are on our 1 week count down until we open our internet doors to 3D Design Challenge!!! So spread the word, cause there is going to be lots of fun and prizes!!!

Little One

WOW where did the weekend go and yesterday??? I meant to post yesterday and the day just got away from me. I met up with a friend who showed me her new SU catty and all of her swaps from Convention....oooooh aaaahh! Great new catalog and seems like swaps were even better this year. Now I need to sell of my Sizzix and all the dies I have to make a little cash to put towards the new SU Big Shot! Oh how I hate those machines!!!! *grins*
Well on to the card. I saw this sweet paper at my LSS (Scrapbook Destination) and knew I could use it for some of Aly's baby layouts (that I still need to do). I love the sentiment "Cutie Patootie", so this paper works for me, plus I dig that little giraffe. Love it when there are coordinating stamps and paper. Since I probably won't do any layouts for a bit I still wanted to play with this new paper. So, hello I made a card, now hopefully someone I know will have a girl...ha ha! The pink pattern paper is just the back side of the Cutie Patootie patterned side. I stamped the giraffe on Creamy Caramel with Chocolate Chip craft ink and embossed with clear EP. The line of this paper and stamps is called "Baby Powder" by Imaginisce. Too cute!
I am off to make a wedding book today. A friend of my Mom's is having me make a guest book/ album for her son's wedding. I will take some pictures when I am done and show them to you.
Have a super day and thank you thank you for the sweet comments this weekend! I am proud of myself for making it to the top 10 of Gallery Idol, it is a fun addition to my list of recognitions! OH and only 8 more days until Carrie and I start challenging you over at 3D Design Challenge!! Can't wait!!

Friday, August 1, 2008

Saturday

As many of you probably know I did not make it to Round 4/ Top 5 of the Gallery Idol contest. While I am very sad, I am SO very thankful for all of the support that each of you has given me. I have met a lot of new people, heard from some long time readers first time commenters and of course have always had the support of my dearest bloggin' friends. I truly could not have asked for a better prize. Thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart!! There is always next year right? LOL!
I am going to take the weekend off to celebrate & enjoy my middle child's birthday. Happy 9th Birthday Corbin! I will see all of you back here on Monday. Have a wonderful weekend!!!
Hugs,
Pam

I am off to bed now, been an extremely long day and now I am posting this at almost 1 AM Friday morning for all you, my favorite readers!
I will update here at noon to let you know the news regarding Gallery Idol and who is in the Top 5.
Have a super day!!
Hugs,

Pam
